In case anyone missed the investing letter this morning, I think this is an important lesson to see!
Someone I knew from college used to say this quote often and it has stuck with me for decades.
Healthy expectations reflect what you know, not what you want
This is the overwhelming thought I had in my head this morning about this article: Hedge funds are dumping stocks — just as mom-and-pop investors rush in. (Also a thread on Reddit - r/economy)
I’m seeing a lot of retail investors wanting the market to go up and I think that is being reflected in the numbers in that article. No long lesson today just to pause a moment before you push that buy button on that growth/tech stock. Ask yourself: am I doing this based on what I want or what I know based on the data we have gotten this year?
