As we have been warning we are seeing choppy, dangerous markets for short term trading
In our 01/25 letter we advocating being “risk-off” because of these choppy markets. That has proven to be a good strategy as they yo-yo up and down at times in back to back days without clear reasons as to why. To a large degree we think the market is not at all confident if we are seeing a “soft landing” or if persistent high core inflation readings and/or the impact of personal debt will spiral the market back down.
